IMAGE OF NURSING COMMITTEE
The Image of Nursing Committee was created with the intention to promote a positive and professional image of nurses, nursing students, and the nursing profession. This committee works to increase public awareness of the many roles nurses have in healthcare, including bedside care, leadership, education, advocacy, community service, and advanced practice. Please note that the 2025 FNSA House of Delegates has voted to combine the Image of Nursing Committee with the Communications Committee upon the adoption of the 2026 FNSA Bylaws.

Committee chairs appointed by the FNSA President following the annual state convention. Their appointment continues for one year. Committee members are welcome to apply here at any time following the annual state convention. Their appointment continues for one year or up to six months following graduation. Please note that the 2025 FNSA House of Delegates has voted to make the Communications and Marketing Manager the head of the Communications Committee and Image of Nursing Committee upon the adoption of the 2026 FNSA Bylaws.

The specific responsibilities of each Image of Nursing Committee member depend on the projects assigned by the committee chair. Committee members are encouraged to attend committee meetings, stay in communication with the committee chair, and assist with projects that support FNSA chapters across the state. Members are expected to assist with promoting a positive image of nurses by developing chapter resources, social media content, and other educational materials to help promote a positive image of nursing.

FNSA Bylaws - Article XII, Section 17
The Committee on Image of Nursing shall:
Be chaired by the Corresponding Secretary and consist of members who represent each region of the state, when possible.
Promote the theme of Image of Nursing to the membership.
Develop a marketing plan to promote FNSA.
Encourage and assist local chapters in forming their own Image of Nursing Committees, as well as planning and implementing events that qualify them for the Image of Nursing Award.
Perform all other duties pertaining to the office.

Develop an Image of Nursing Project and apply for the FNSA/NSNA Image of Nursing Award.
Help students understand the meaning of professionalism in nursing.
