FNSA Scholarships
Supporting leadership, service, and financial need among Florida nursing students.
FNSA scholarships recognize student leadership, professional involvement, and financial need. All awards are funded through the Florida Nurses Foundation and administered by the FNSA Treasurer in collaboration with the Scholarship Selection Committee.
Who is Eligible?
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Currently enrolled in an ADN or BSN nursing program in the State of Florida
OR a recent graduate (current academic year)
In good standing with their academic institution
Active NSNA/FNSA membership is required for leadership-based scholarships.
Scholarship Categories
Leadership Scholarships — $500 Each
These awards recognize outstanding contributions to FNSA and NSNA at the local, state, or national level.
Heather Scaglione Leadership Scholarship
Dr. Claydell Horne Leadership Scholarship
Willa Fuller Leadership Scholarship
Mary Tittle Leadership Scholarship
Paula Massey Leadership Scholarship
Carol Petrozella Educational Leadership Scholarship (for students interested in Nursing Education)
Helen Ann Dean Scholarship
Recognizes leadership at the local and/or state level.
Funded through Sustaining Membership and Pennies PRN fundraising efforts.
FNSA Scholarship (Financial Need Based)
Award amount and number of recipients determined by available funds
Requires proof of financial need
Requires completion of the financial statement section
What You Must Submit
All applicants must include:
Completed scholarship cover sheet
Current GPA and Nursing GPA
NSNA membership number and expiration date (if applicable)
Letter of recommendation from Chapter Consultant or Dean/Director verifying good standing
Additional Requirements for Leadership Scholarships
One-page typed essay
Essay Prompt:
Discuss your contributions to NSA membership, what you have gained from your involvement, and how you plan to contribute to professional nursing organizations in the future.
Additional Requirements for Financial Need Scholarship
Completed financial statement section
Documentation demonstrating financial need
Applicants must provide income and expense information as outlined in the application.
Selection Process
Applications are reviewed by a Scholarship Selection Committee
When possible, one consultant from each region serves on the committee
The committee determines the number of awards and award amounts based on available funds
Incomplete or illegible applications will not be considered.
