President’s Letter

Hello FNSA members and welcome to our website.  I enjoyed meeting so many of you in Grapevine, Texas.  A special congratulations to the University of North Florida Student Nurse Association for receiving Honorable Mention for their Breakthrough to Nursing project “Adaptation”.  I hope that we will have the chance to meet all of you at our State Convention, October 29th through October 31st.

I hope that this Convention has excited everyone about our State Convention.  I know your e-board is more excited than ever about Pre-Convention and Convention.   Don’t forget that Pre-Convention is going to be held on September 20th through September 21st.  Pre-Convention is an excellent chance for student networking, learning and understanding Robert’s Rules (the rules and guidelines followed by all delegates in the House of Delegates meetings), and it gives you a chance to learn more about the FNSA and how we can help your local chapter.

Congratulations to all of our graduating new nurses on your successful completion of nursing school.  I know that it is a long and difficult road, but it is finally done.  Good luck to you in all that you endeavor.  We all wish you all happiness and success in whatever path you choose.  Don’t forget that as NSNA members your first year of FNA membership is free and your second year is half price.  All you have to do is fill out an FNA application, paper or online at www.floridanurse.org, within 60 days of your graduation.

To everyone else congratulation on one more year completed.  As the time flies by your goals of becoming a nurse and the reasons behind it become clearer and clearer.  While nursing school can seem difficult at times, I challenge you to embrace the experiences you receive while in school.  Enjoy every moment and you will be surprised at how much easier it will seem.  Always remember that your FNSA is here for YOU.  We are an organization of student nurses for student nurses.  If there is anything you need or anything that you think we can assist you with please feel free to contact any one of your board members, including myself.  As always, thank you for your time and continued support.

Nothing will ever be attempted if all possible objections must be first overcome.
